A skirt made me feel like I was visiting Monet’s Garden!

It was the perfect twirling skirt made of light weight Indian cotton, with a lining of white featherweight cotton.

The skirt is paired with a vintage silver heart rose quartz, necklace and a pink cotton knit sweater with pointelle details, scalloped neckline. A vintage, red cashmere cable knit sweater completes the look. I like the unexpected combination of pink and red together. I so enjoy mixing patterns and textures like an artist mixing a palette of paint!
The cotton feels feather light and soft against the skin, and sort of just floats about you as you move. It has a dappled, or impressionistic style floral pattern of apple red, pea green, peony pink, dove white and a periwinkle blue that looks as fresh as a spring sky after a rain.
“Cotton lawn fabric has a rich history and cultural significance that dates back centuries. This lightweight, sheer, and finely woven fabric originated in India, specifically in the region of Bengal. It was first produced during the Mughal era, which spanned from the 16th to the 19th centuries.” ~ source Knowingfabric.com
Indian cotton is one of the most comfortable types of fabric to wear! Although I don’t think that is the reason it is called “lawn”, it is definitely something that I would want to wear in a Monet-ish lawn-garden!

The mood changes from vibrant to thoughtful with a soft green cashmere sweater in place of the red. Art Nouveau dish featured in our Etsy shop! (LINK TO ITEM)
